The East Hall Band took a trip to Kennesaw State University. The wind symphony was asked to perform at Kennesaw State University on February 10. Craig Cantrell, band director, said, “I am totally excited and honored to be asked to perform at Kennesaw. Only ten schools were chosen to perform and it’s a privilege to be one of them.” To be chosen to play, the band had to apply and get accepted. They sent a recording of their past two live performances. Once all that is reviewed, the bands get chosen.

The band will perform three pieces. “In Storm and Sunshine March” by J.C Heed, “Second Suite for Military Band in F” by Gustav Holst, and “One Like Beautiful” by Julie Giroux. They have been practicing for this performance since November.

The students in wind symphony are also excited about performing. Shyla Rodriguez, clarinet player in the wind symphony, said, ”I am really excited to miss half a day of school to play at Kennesaw. The wind symphony has worked so hard to make our performance perfect. Even though it is tiring to stay after school to practice it will all be worth it.” East Hall wishes the band good luck and congratulations.
