Teacher Spotlight: Michael Valley

Michael Valley is an Art instructor here at East Hall, as well as a professional artist. Valley went to the University of Georgia, where he received his Masters in Fine Arts. With this degree, he has taught other artists at UGA, Perimeter College, and now East Hall. Valley’s work has been shown at credible shows like the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition in New York and the Lyndon House in Athens. Valley was a finalist in the Art Magazine two years in a row, had two paintings win in the ArtSlant Prize international Internet Showcase, won merit awards at the South Cobb Art Alliance Show, Quinlan Art Center, and the Hudgens Center for the Arts in Atlanta. In addition to many other local and national showcases, with various different awards. Not only does Valley make art, he also displays it locally to be bought, as well as on his website MichaelValleyArt.com. He alo runs East Hall’s Art Instagram page, and is debating on starting a YouTube channel. When he isn’t at school teaching art, he is at home making it! Valley is very committed to expressing his artistic ability and showing others his creative mind through his pieces.
