Out of many countless seniors to choose from, the spotlight this week goes to East Hall High School’s very own Student Council president and Drum major leader for the marching band, Yesenia Galvez. Galvez has been a true viking since her middle school years. Always been in the marching and cheering on her football team. This will be her second year being a drum major for her marching band. This year, she is also taking up  a new title on being class president for her senior class of 2019.

Galvez was asked a couple question on her senior year so far with she answered by, “ Senior year is stressful, the homework is load way more then before.”


Galvez spoke on about what she is look forward to this year, she said “I’m looking forward to graduation of course i’m excited to start college and grow from this high school experience.”


Galvez was asked what makes this senior year different than others is that she has more freedom. Also being a senior is stressful but it’s a lot of fun.  Glavez is  waiting for gradation but its also expensive because you have to buy your cap, gown, yearbook and senior pictures.


Galvez is one of East Hall High school hardworking student that wants to be involved in the community as she is part Featherbone, FBLA, Student Council,NHS and Anchor club.


Galvez was asked what is going to make senior year special she answered with, “what’s going to make this year special is all the bittersweet moments. Senior night will be very big.”


Galvez has interacted with so many people as student council president. She had been encountered with Katie Buffington that spoke on about Galvez saying, “ she is amazing , with great leadership skill and very organized.”

With taking on being student council president position and drum major not just that, but taking on  difficult course to challenge herself this year. She is making every effort to graduation and spend these last moment with her friends.  Yesenia Galvez is ready to take on her senior year and make it count.
