The East Hall High School band had placed second place overall in their previous competition.  The Lake Hartwell Marching Band Competition took place in Hart County, with 20 bands competing.  The Band went as an open class as the East Hall and has over a 100 members.

The East hall Band won second place overall and also got third place in percussion.  They got superior in Band, Drum Major, Colorguard, and Percussion.

I spoke to some east hall members that talked about their competition on the previous Saturday.  Vanessa Channon (10) plays trumpet and was asked how she felt about her performance? “ I feel that the trumpet section did really good but the band overall did a great job.”

I spoke to also Arely Adame (11) plays piccolo, and was asked how did she prepare for the competition?

“ I just practice with the band, worked on my steps when every I had time, and just have fun honestly.”

The East Hall band had another competition last  Saturday at the Cass High School, Bartow County. This was one of the competitions that the band had never played for before and were excited about this new experience.  The band overall got 5th place out of 18 bands. The East Hall Band drum majors and percussion placed 3rd. The band also got all superior in their categories.

Giselle Garcia (10)  plays clarinet was asked how does she feel about their competition?

She responded by saying that they been working ever since there competition to improve their score and just that she is excited to compete somewhere new, and that she was happy with the result.

This is a wrap for the East Hall Band season. They have done a great job this season with cheering on the football games and pep rallies. The band’s last performance is this Friday night at Lumpkin County High School. Come out and support them to say goodbye to seniors and welcoming freshmen to the band.
