On Dec. 6-9 our East Hall Community will find out if Dorothy will make her way back to Kansas. Just this year, we have already seen our Viking Vision Theatre Group impress. From “Selfie” to “Trick or Treat so Tots can Eat.” This production is sure to be no different. In the classic Wizard of Oz, we will discover if there is really no place like home.

The Wizard of Oz is a 1939 film that entails Dorothy Gale and her dog, Toto, being swept away to the land of Oz after a tornado on their Kansas farm. There they go along a yellow brick road to meet the Wizard of Oz. On their journey they come across a Cowardly Lion, a Tin Man, as well as the Scarecrow. They will go through a journey to visit the Wizard that can assist her friends as well as get Dorothy back to her home.

Though it’s been nearing 80 years since this film was released and over 100 years since the live action was released, updated movies and plays are still being produced to this day. I had the opportunity to speak with faculty about their opinions on what’s in store for this upcoming production.

“I think it’s unique that we have little kids involved from the elementary and middle schools” said, Mrs. Jordan.

Our cast has been working since August to make this production practically perfect. All of the VVTG Cast will execute all of their hard work on the show dates. If you are interested in seeing the show you can still see it on Dec. 7-9.

Chesney Wilbanks, Staff Writer

Hi, I'm Chesney Wilbanks with the East Hall Newspaper. This is my first year at the newspaper as well as my first year at East Hall High School. You may have seen me at the football games in the Marching Band. I am in the Colorguard and am a first year marcher. This will also be my 3rd year in Tome Society. Outside of school I enjoy going to the mall with my friends. I also enjoy going to the Free Chapel Youth Group. This year I would like to write about things currently happening here. Whether that's sports, upcoming events, or writing about my opinion, I want to write things that people are going to want to read more of.
