The “Ultimate” Collaboration in Combat?!?!

Coming in December 7th, the fifth installment of one of the greatest fighting games known to man is releasing, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Starting back in 1999, Super Smash Bros. broke into the gaming scene with it’s hard hitting combat, amazing intro, and a interesting cast of characters such as Mario, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Link from The Legends of Zelda, Yoshi, Pikachu from Pokemon, Samus from Metroid, Fox from Star Fox, Ness from Earthbound, Luigi, Captain Falcon from F-Zero, Jigglypuff from Pokemon, and many more to come in future games. Popular Nintendo characters at the time, coming together to bash each others heads off in hand to hand combat.

The mastermind behind the famous Nintendo fighting masterpiece is a man by the name of Masahiro Sakurai, however; before Smash Brothers, Sakurai made a prototype called “Dragon King: The Fighting Game. Later on, Sakurai had an idea on including Nintendo characters from different franchises in order to provide “atmosphere” to the game which was necessary for a home gaming console, and that’s when Super Smash Bros. was born.

With Super Smash Bros. being released on January 21, 1999, everyone wanted more “Smash” so in 2001 was the birth of the “sequel”, Super Smash Bros. Melee that added more characters in to the fight. Then 6 years later came Super Smash Bros. Brawl having even more characters than its predecessor, however Sakurai decided to add “3rd Party” characters or characters from different companies like Sonic the Hedgehog from Sega and Solid Snake from the Metal Gear series into the mix, then 6 years after came Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U with even more characters in the fight with more 3rd Party characters with Ryu from Street Fighters being the most shocking to most players. Super Smash Bros. has made a big impact on gamers around the world with all the crazy combos, easter eggs, glitches, and tournaments.

I’ve talked to people on their thoughts about the new game.

From Blake Nix he said “ Well my opinion is that it’s gonna be an outstanding addition to the series, if its executed right and they keep to their classic play style”

From Emiliano Perez he said “For the looks of it, it’s gonna be a great fighting game.

From William Eldred he said “I think it’s going to be the best in the series. They put Snake back in it so they have my money”

From Julius Rodriguez he said “In my opinion even though i can’t play it, it looks pretty good”

Personally for me, I’ve been a long Smash Bros. fan and can’t wait to get a Nintendo Switch and Smash Bros. Ultimate really soon, hopefully for Christmas. For people that love fighting games, Nintendo characters and including 3rd Party characters, then I really recommend this game. I hope in the future, Masahiro Sakurai will continue making great games like Super Smash Bros.
