Senior Year, ultimately the most important year of your life. The year when you leave the place that shaped and taught you, and the year that you think about what you will do for the rest of your life. While it will be difficult to leave the class of 2019, it’s important that we celebrate and never forget the mark they left on our school. This year’s class has accomplished so much and deserves to be recognized for all they do. The way we celebrate these achievements is with our annual Senior Night, taken place January 18th.

Senior Night is an event the school puts on towards the closing of every Football and Basketball season. These events focuses on each Senior and showcasing what all they did in their time at East Hall. Each Senior gets to share the achievements and clubs they were in, their plans after high school, and their greatest memories at our school. It recognizes girl and boy Basketball players, Basketball Cheerleading, and Competition Cheerleading.

Boys Basketball Players recognized include Cam Cheeks, Kylan Curry, and Jayvion Jinks. Girls Basketball Players recognized includes Ivey Shadburn, Jenny Lopez, Maggie Griffin, Lakita Brinkley, and Ashante Peoples. Basketball Cheerleaders recognized includes Amayah Dowdy, and Karah Dale. Competition Cheerleaders recognized includes Macy Atkins, Avana Anderson, and Mandy Teaver. To Candace Wilbanks, Cheerleading Coach, this was an important night to see her cheerleaders and all they accomplished.

“I’m so very proud of all my cheerleaders hard work and so excited to see what their bright futures hold, even though I’m sad to let them go.”

While it will indeed be difficult to say goodbye to some of the most gifted students East Hall has had, this event reflects all of the accomplishments in their years at our school. We know with everything these students have done for Valhalla, they are bound to have bright futures.
