With Adam’s Young Man taking first place. The prize for first place was a cash prize of fifty dollars. With their first-place performance of an instrumental piece of ‘Better Now’ by Post Malone.

The production lasted up to two hours with judges giving the contestants some feedback. Our judges were Mrs. Jordan, Mrs. Rylee, and our special guest judge, Mr. Morgan.

Performers for the night were Asya Scott singing ‘Lovely’, Karah Dale singing ‘Hopelessly Devoted to you’, Kalea Carney singing ‘Because of you’, Faila Kisebwe rapping in original piece also danced to ‘Drunk in Love’,  Makira Nash singing ‘Never Enough’, Masun Watkins-Boss playing Pink Floyd on the guitar, Sarah Collins’ monologue of ‘Good Will Hunting’, Aaliyah Ellison singing ‘Jealous’, Mr. Black playing guitar and singing ‘Until the Last Light Fades’, Adam’s Young Men playing ‘Better Now’, Maura Ostrander singing ‘I Love Play Rehearsal’, and lastly Miguel Mondragon singing ‘Can’t Smile Without You’.

The show had audience interaction as the audience did pick the winner with a URL link that they offered at the show.  The top five performers were Adam’s Young Men, Maura Ostrander, Faila Kisebwe, Karah Dale and Aaliyah Ellison. First place was given to Adam’s Young Men.

Gavino (11) member of Adam’s Young Men said, “I feel flattered that we won and the first note was not the best, but we pulled through and overall I think we did pretty good. We had a lot of fun and that’s what matters.”

Issac (12)  was asked about how he feels about winning, “It was pretty fun, I enjoyed it up here wasn’t really expecting nothing out of it.”

Isaac (12)  told us how the band prepared for the show, “ We auditioned with ‘Better Now’ and we were going to do a meme song but that didn’t work out too well. We pulled out Better Now two days ago.”

The talent show was overall a great production by the theater community. Parents, staff, and friends came out to support these amazing and talented students on their big night.

Jocelyn Castro (10)  spoke about the show, “I had a lot of fun. I think everyone  did really well.”
