Mrs. Michelle Fair is one of Valhalla’s most beloved Biology teachers and our spotlight this week. This is Mrs. Fair’s 5th year teaching at EHHS and is her 13th year in Hall County. Before coming to East Hall she taught at Johnson for 5 years and East Hall Middle for 3 years. She has an educational background of a Bachelor and Masters degree in Biology Education. Mrs. Fair will also be receiving her Specialist Degree in Instructional Technology in May of this year.

Even if you haven’t gotten the chance to have Mrs. Fair as your Biology teacher, you may have seen her if you are a Fellowship of Christian Athletes attendant. FCA is a non-profit organization that has establishments all over the country bringing God’s word to our schools. Mrs. Fair is the Huddle Coach for East Hall’s FCA. She helps Student Leaders organize events such as bi-weekly meetings to outreaches and service projects. Her mission is to make a difference in student’s and teacher’s lives.

When Mrs. Fair isn’t in the classroom teaching her students she likes to spend her time with her family, participating in church activities as well as collecting specimens for her Biology classes. She has collected hundreds of specimens that her students find very interesting to learn about because they all have a story behind how she got them. Something most don’t know about Mrs. Fair is that she actually has a pet tarantula. She also helps take care of the different animals in the EPICC room such as a bird and mice. I had the chance to speak with Mrs. Fair about what her favorite part of teaching has been.

Getting the students excited about learning biology and sharing all of my specimens with them.”

We are so glad to have Mrs. Fair as our Biology teacher in Valhalla. Her engaging spirit in the classroom and how she cares for each of her students is why we appreciate all she does for our school. She always knows how she can engage students each and every day truly inspiring students to learn as well as know more about the world around them.
