Our most beloved Head Softball Coach, Josh Joiner, is getting ready to leave Valhalla. While he will be missed, his new career as Head Softball Coach at Peachtree Ridge awaits. Joiner has tremendously impacted East Hall Softball, and is ready to move from a Class AAA level to a Class AAAAAAA level.

Joiner was hired as an East Hall staff member after attending Grayson College and took the spot as Head Coach just in his 2nd year educating. He has been Assistant Coach of Baseball in his time in with East Hall with an exception of 2018 where he took a break while his wife was pregnant with their daughter, Gracyn. Coach Joiner was chosen to represent and coach at Peachtree Ridge, taking the spot of former coach, Bubba Wilson and received the opportunity to meet the school’s players Monday morning.

Coach Joiner had an exceptional time at East Hall, winning region championships for the past 3 years. While the Head Coach had fun in his time at East Hall, he is ready and intrigued by the opening of Peachtree Ridge. He is also ready to play in a AAAAAAA Region.

“I’m looking forward to meeting the girls and beginning our relationship. I’m looking forward to getting to work. It’s an all-around upgrade” says Joiner.

Coach Joiner’s time will be missed not only as a coach, but a teacher, a colleague, and a friend. Peachtree Ridge is also ready to invite Joiner, his wife Haley, and his 2 daughters, Harper and Gracyn into their community. Even though he’s leaving, Valhalla is happy that he is taking on a new challenge and pursuing his dreams.

Chesney Wilbanks, Staff Writer

Hi, I'm Chesney Wilbanks with the East Hall Newspaper. This is my first year at the newspaper as well as my first year at East Hall High School. You may have seen me at the football games in the Marching Band. I am in the Colorguard and am a first year marcher. This will also be my 3rd year in Tome Society. Outside of school I enjoy going to the mall with my friends. I also enjoy going to the Free Chapel Youth Group. This year I would like to write about things currently happening here. Whether that's sports, upcoming events, or writing about my opinion, I want to write things that people are going to want to read more of.
