Enough is Enough Disney!!

For years now, Disney has made live-action remakes of classic Disney cartoon movies starting with The Jungle Book back in 1995. Ever since then, they made remakes of mainly every classic movies, and some were good, some were not so good, or just straight up bad. Whether it’s to ruining our childhoods with these “real life” styles of characters, or to make money, or to revive classic movies and remake it into a much more modern fashion, Disney is notorious for their obvious releases of live-action versions of a classic movie.

Everyone has been asking why Disney has been making these live-action remakes, and the answer is money.  Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast both earned more than $1 billion at the box office, while The Jungle Book came mighty close with 967 million dollars. Out of the eight movies released so far (not including Dumbo), Pete’s Dragon has disappointed after grossing only 143.7 million dollars and, arguably, not too much was expected of it anyway as it’s not the most well-known property. Unfortunately, Disney is still making more live-action remakes such as Lady and the Tramp, Mulan, The Little Mermaid, The Sword and The Stone, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Lilo and Stitch, Pinocchio, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. However, even though most say that these “Disney nightmares” are bad, some people enjoy them pretty well.

Some students had some thoughts about Disney live-action remake.

Former East Hall Student, Jacquez Burris, says “They’re fun to watch and can give you time to enjoy it with your family.”

East Hall Junior and ROTC Cadet Stone Phipps says “It’s a good idea so that kids our generation can experience it like we did back when we were kids.”

East Hall Graduate of 2019, Arayah West says “They shouldn’t have made them, if the classic were good as they were, what was the point of bringing it back, especially in live-action form, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Whether you like it or not, Disney live-action remakes will never go away until remake every single Disney classic, either to ruin people’s childhoods or entertain the new generation of kids.
