On October 11th, the new rendition of “The Addams Family” movie was released across the US. This animated twist on the classic 1960s television classic has made just over $10 million dollars from the time of its release. The Addams Family was originally a live action television show created by David Levy and Donald Saltzman, but is based off of characters from Charles Addams’ cartoons. The movie is now an animated movie and while it’s different from the original, still holds the same classic storyline. This movie is just is just in time for the Halloween season.

The Addams Family is a horror/sitcom is about a tight-knit family that has different supernatural powers that are never explained in the series. The characters include Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Lurch, Grandmama, Wednesday, Pugsley, and Thing. In the plot of the original Addams Family Gomez and Morticia Addams are chased away with the rest of the Addams clan during their wedding ceremony by an angry mob that disapproves of their macabre nature. Gomez and Morticia decided to move to New Jersey, a place where “no one would be caught dead in.” There, Gomez, Morticia, and Thing find their “perfect” home in an abandoned and haunted asylum on a hill where they meet Lurch, an escaped mental patient whom they immediately recruit as their butler.

To summarize the new Addams Family film, The family is shocked when a man (Christopher Lloyd) pretending to be Fester, Gomez Addams ‘ missing brother (Raul Julia), arrives at the home of the Addams. Nevertheless, Morticia (Anjelica Huston) begins to suspect that the man is a liar because he can not remember the details of the life of Fester.Fester manages to get the Addams family removed from their homes with the help of attorney Tully Alford (Dan Hedaya).  Gomez realizes the two men are conspiring to swindle the Addams fortune and that he must challenge Fester.

After viewing the movie, my thoughts were almost all positive. The movie was very inclusive of aspects from the original Addams Family film. The Character were developed fairly well, overall the movie was very well pictured, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
