East Hall Places 3rd at One Act

East Hall High School’s Performing Acts program placed 3rd in the Regional One Act Plays which took place on October 24th, 2019 in Dawson, Georgia.

One Act is an event that is coordinated by GHSA, Georgia High School Association, and high schools from all around Georgia participate in it. Essentially, a high school comes and performs a play that consists of only one act which is typically around 50 minutes long. East Hall High School’s theatre program performed a one act play called Jasper in Deadland. This play is centered around a boy named Jasper who finds himself lost in a mythical world called Deadland where his best friend and lover, Agnes, has gone to.

“Performing the show was such an adrenaline rush! I’m so proud of our program, we worked so hard to get where we are,” Rachel Bonilla, a junior that participates in theatre and was in Jasper in Deadland spoke very highly of all the hard work that went into organizing and practicing for One Act. Students from even outside of the theatre program had things to tell about Jasper in Deadland which was performed for the people of East Hall’s community the week before One Act.

“I saw the play on the theatre’s opening night, and it was great! I could tell everyone worked hard on it. I heard Jasper in Deadland was a huge success at One Act, they placed third,” Malichi White, a senior who is in Technical Theatre commented in regards to One Act and Jasper in Deadland

East Hall High School is extremely proud of our performing arts program. Their dedication to the art of theatre is admired throughout the school and community.
