Andre 5 likes: Naruto Games

Naruto was first published back in 1997 and soon came on the Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999. Later on, the manga was adapted into an anime series with the first part being in 2002 and the sequel being in 2007. During that time, like any other anime, Naruto received a handful of video games with the majority of them having positive feedback. Here are my top 5 Naruto games of all-time:

5. Naruto Shippuden: Naruto vs Sasuke – 2010(Nintendo DS)

This was the first Naruto game I’ve played both on the DS and in general. Naruto vs Sasuke was originally released in 2008 in Japan, than it got released in 2010 in North America. It incorporates several tag-team specials. The character’s sprites are smaller than the previous games in the series, allowing more action on-screen. Most of the special moves no longer use touch screen in order to be performed. Touch screen controls perform certain techniques. The story mode is from the beginning of Naruto Shippuden to when Naruto meets Sasuke once again after 3 years. This game is a decent game that you can pick up and play and have a fun time.

4. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Blazing – 2016(Android, iOS)

This is the first official Naruto app game ever made. Naruto Blazing is a strategic RPG fighting game that unleashes combination attacks with your allies. You can control with over 100 characters and build up strong formations. This game includes a story mode that’s based on the actual story where you can go through the Naruto story from part 1 to part 2. The also includes modes such as Emergency Missions where you can challenge yourself and recruit a bunch of ninjas throughout the Naruto history and many other modes. You can also play online in PvP(Player vs Player) against other players’ teams. Unfortunately this game is not being hated on for its’ competitive ways, but I believe you can still get a good kick out of this game.

 3. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution – 2014(Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC)

Personally this was the first Naruto game I played on the PS3. Storm Revolution consists characters and stages from part 1 of Naruto to the fight against Madara, Obito and the ten tails in The 4th Great Ninja War.  The game features a revamped fighting system. It includes new ways of forming teams based on their skills as well as counterattacks and guard breaks. Masashi Kishimoto worked in the game by providing the new character Mecha-Naruto as well as new designs for the characters belonging to the organization Akatsuki to before they joined. The game also includes a tournament mode where the player can battle against three CPU fighters at the same time, in an all-out battle royale format. Players are also able to customize characters by what they have on their gear. Just like the previous game, this game includes an online mode where you can fight other players around the world. The story mode is basically 3 original animated stories with the first one talking about the origins of the iconic organization, The Akatsuki. The second one talks about the moments of Shisui Uchiha before his death, and the third talks about Kushina Uzumaki, mother of Naruto, and her interaction with Minato Namikaze’s(Naruto’s Father) Team 7. The game has received positive critical reception in Japan, with Famitsu giving a score of 35 out of 40 in both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. In western market, the game received mixed to positive reviews from critics. I believe you can have a fun time playing this game since this was the last Naruto video game for PS3 and Xbox 360.

2. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Impact – 2011(Playstation Portable)

Personally this is one of my favorite PSP games. Ultimate Ninja Impact is the sixth and final Naruto installmentof the PlayStation Portable. The game’s story mode starts from Kazekage Rescue Mission and goes all the way up to the Five Kage Summit. The gameplay itself is very similar to Dynasty Warriors where you can play as a character and have large scales battles against hordes of enemies. Any Naruto can have fun with this game and enjoy it.

 1. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 – 2016(Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC)

This was the first game I played on the PS4, unfortunately, this was considered the last Ultimate Ninja Storm game in the series. Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 story mode concludes the Naruto Story as the mode begins from the reveal of Obito to the final battle between Naruto and Sasuke. Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 features gameplay akin to that of previous games in the series, in which players battle each other in 3D arenas. Another new feature is the ability to swap characters during battle, similar to games like Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Awakenings and ultimate jutsus from previous games also return, and can now be shared between the switchable characters, meaning players can build up their meter with one character, switch to the other and use said abilities with the other characters. The expansion version is entitled Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 – Road to Boruto and this version adds on to Boruto’s(Naruto’s Son)Tale, basically it retells the movie “Boruto : Naruto the Movie along with playable characters during that time. The game received generally positive reviews, with much praise going to the game’s narrative and graphics. I believe this is one of the greatest Naruto games ever made; the game is loved by many and will age well.
