The End of East Hall’s Basketball Season

East Hall High School is sad to announce that the 2019-20 basketball season is officially over. Our varsity boys and girls both took very close losses in the first round of region tournaments.

Our basketball team has overcome many difficulties this season and continues to amaze us. The varsity boys had an unexpected head coach change in the middle of the season while competing in the Lanier Land tournament. This led to last year’s head coach, Seth Thompson, stepping up and taking the role again. Both teams have also had many injuries beginning at the first scrimmage and ending at the last game.

I spoke with Lady Viking, Gracie Smith (12), to get her thoughts on this season.

“I am so proud of all that we have accomplished this season but I am very sad to have to see it end.”

Tuesday, February 4th at Greater Atlanta Christian School, our Varsity Boys basketball players, coached by Seth Thompson, fought a tough battle between one of our closest rivals. North Hall High School Trojans won the game by only seven points and will be advancing to the next round of region. The final score of the game was 50-57 North Hall. East Hall boys ended their season with a record of 6-18.

East Hall High School’s varsity girls basketball players, coached by Justin Wheeler,  also lost a very close game. Wednesday, February 5th, our girls battled the Dawson County Tigers and lost 46-52.  The Tigers will be advancing to the next round of region. The Lady Vikings ended their season with a 9-15 record.

East Hall High School is beyond proud of our basketball players and coaches for being very successful this season. We are already excited for next year.
