Cheerleading Tryouts

As the 2019-20 school year is coming to an end, our East Hall High School Cheerleaders are already preparing for next school year’s season. By hosting tryouts in March, our cheer teams are hoping to have more participation and preparation for their upcoming seasons.

Competition Cheerleading tryouts will be March 9th,10th,11th, and 12th 4:00 to 5:30 in East Hall High School’s old gym. These tryouts are open for upcoming East Hall Middle School 8th graders and East Hall High School 9th-12th graders. No experience is required to tryout.

Senior Mckenzie Duncan has been a competitive cheerleader all four years of highschool. Her advice for people thinking about trying out was,

“It can be a little scary at first but not only do you gain friends, you gain sisters. You will be stronger than you ever thought was possible.”

East Hall’s Competitive Cheerleaders learn a routine that consists of stunting, tumbling, dancing, and jumps. They will then perform this routine at multiple cheer competitions against other Georgia high school cheer teams.  If cheering competitively is something that interests you, be sure to attend their tryouts to learn more information. If you have any questions, contact head coach Marsha Holtzclaw at [email protected].

Spirit Cheerleading tryouts will be held March 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 27th 4:00 to 6:00 in East Hall High School’s old gym. It is open for any upcoming East Hall High School 9th-12th grader. No experience is required to attend the tryouts.

East Hall’s Spirit Cheerleading Team cheers for our football and/or basketball teams on the sidelines. Spirit cheerleaders have the option of making both football and basketball cheer or just making one team. Football cheerleaders learn cheers and band dances to perform at the football games. Basketball cheerleaders will learn cheers to do at the basketball games. If you are interested in cheering on your favorite athletes, make sure to come out to their tryouts. Do not hesitate to contact the coaches Candace Wilbanks at [email protected] or Marsha Holtzclaw at [email protected]

Even if you are unsure about cheerleading or if it is something for you, East Hall’s Cheer teams would love to see you at tryouts. We cannot wait to see what this season will bring for them.
