Theatre Update: The Little Mermaid and 9 to 5

This past week VVTG, East Hall’s theatre department, put on a performance of Disney’s The Little Mermaid. This production was a big challenge for all involved in the program as the whole production was put together in about three weeks. It was a lot of vigorous work but it was all worth it in the end. The show was not perfect but it was definitely a success. VVTG went the extra mile to give the show that wow factor. So many technical elements were incorporated from water lights projected onto the ceiling of the auditorium to make you look like you are underwater, to many elements of the show being made from recycled materials and repurposed objects, to the incredible puppetry. East Hall’s production of The Little Mermaid really blew audiences away. The performances ran mostly smooth besides some technical issues with sound and microphones. If you missed The Little Mermaid, VVTG will still be having one more show this year, the spring show will be Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 the musical.

Mark it in your calendars 9 to 5 will be performed April 29th, 30th, May 1st, and May 2nd.
If you are interested in being a part of 9 to 5, auditions have closed but if you would like to be an ensemble member or stage crew for the show contact Andrew Autry, Maura Ostrander, or ask any theatre student to get in contact with them. You won’t want to miss this amazing show!
