SHIELD Spotlight: Zion Martinez


East Hall Junior Zion Martinez is a hard working student who raises her S.H.I.E.L.D everyday. S.H.I.E.L.D stands for Strength Honor Integrity Effort Loyalty and Determination. East Hall High School is picking six students every two weeks that exemplify these morals.


Zion is a prime example of a star student. She works hard in all her classes while also being heavily involved with the sports here at East Hall. She plays soccer, track, and cross country. She always shows much honor and determination in everything she puts her mind to. 


Q: What does SHIELD mean to you?


A: “Always working hard.”


Q: Do you think you Embody SHIELD?


A: “yes I think so I try my best to work hard and do all my work.”


Q: Did you expect to be picked?


A: “No I did not expect it.”


Q: How would you encourage others to use SHIELD?


A: “Show up to school and do your work.” 


Zion is a hard working student who raises her SHIELD and makes everyday a great day. As a benefit for winning the SHIELD spotlight Zion’s picture will be displayed in the Integrity Hall and she will receive a Shirt that will allow free access into any school event. So Vikings make sure you are raising your shield everyday and you may be one of the lucky few that get a SHIELD spotlight.
