Cultural Shaping Of Memes

Cultural Shaping Of Memes

The title sounds weird, however, memes have become an essential part of socialization. How do you start a conversation with somebody you want to talk to? I would pull out one of my best memes and show it to them. What is one use that most people use the cloud drop with iPhones for? Memes. There are meme generators and even projects that revolve around memes. Memes have become such a part of this society without even trying. There is a meme for everything out there. One popular one right now is Chris Rock and Will Smith. However, the classics hold dear to our hearts, determined baby, smirking girl with a house on fire, doge in a general sense. All of these and then some. Anime memes, cartoon memes, movie memes, book memes, you think of something and add meme, there’s something out there.Memes have been so far into our culture that it has become normal to send a meme to the person sitting next to you and wait for the reaction instead of just showing them, because for some reason, it’s funnier that way.

When somebody says ‘meme’ there’s at least 10 different ones that everybody thinks about. Memes are the culture of this general generation and there is no fixing it with how far it is in the roots of every single one of us. Memes are an icebreaker, a conversation starter, and depending on the first one they pull up or show you, it says a lot about what type of person they are. That is just how we work now, you can tell if you are going to get along with a person or not depending on their type of humor as well as what memes they like, because, let’s be honest here, they go hand in hand.
Memes are amazing in every sense of the word, they have shaped the world to be what it is. Anything happens, even if it is bad, it can be turned into a meme in one way or another. And, even though what happened might have not needed to be joked about, it eventually turns into some pretty funny things, and that is the beauty of having a bunch of random people see the same thing physically, but mentally, an enormous amount of other things mentally. Now, this isn’t to say that there aren’t bad memes, because there are. Some just plain out aren’t funny and the people who made them probably do not have the same sense of humor that you do, and that’s fine as long as we all have a type of meme we love.Memes are the world that we have created, and it’s not that bad. Memes have been a part of this world since 1921 when the first meme was created. It probably isn’t funny to some of us because we are used to the modern memes. But, it is there.
