East Hall Varsity Volleyball Team Takes On Cherokee Bluff: August 30th, 2022

East Hall’s Varsity volleyball team started the season strong with three wins in a row against Banks County, Fannin County, and West Hall. On Tuesday, August 30th, our ladies lost the home match against Cherokee Bluff with a final score of 2-0. Although this loss was hard on our girls, this is just a minor setback to motivate the team to practice harder and come up with a win for Thursday’s game.

We had Kailyn Copous, a member of the volleyball team, talk to us about how they played on Tuesday: “It was a really off day for us, like we all kinda just like down and not communicating like we usually do. Our Sportsmanship wasn’t really good, but we all talked after that game we just all gotta push and if we go against a team like them we’re going to push our hardest to beat them.”

Another one of our lady Vikings, Lovely Thomas, had more to say about last week’s game: “Cherokee Bluff game on Tuesday, I felt like we could’ve done way better. I felt like that wasn’t us, we definitely got discouraged and in the end, we started to fight but it was way too late. I feel like our team is very good this year.”

Our team leaders as of right now are Kimora Goudelock (9th) with 1.9 kills per second, Annie Fair (11th) with 0.131 hitting percentage, Hannah Mccullough (10th) with 3 total blocks, Paola Negrete (12th) with 3.4 digs per set, and Anslee Banks (12th) with 33 serving aces and 1.4 aces per set.

A recap of our season overall is 8-11 with 3 winning home games, 2 winning away games, and 3 neutral winning games. Come support our varsity girls team, at home, on Tuesday, September 6th while they play against Commerce and pull another win for their season.
